Chemical Laboratory Assistant (M/F/D)

Description

Quality testing in the chemical industry is used to determine the extent to which a product or substance meets the quality requirements. Chemical laboratory assistants check and monitor these quality characteristics by analysing the substances and products produced using a wide variety of chemical and physical methods.

The main tasks include:

  • Planning and carrying out experiments, analyses and syntheses
  • Evaluation of measurement data and presentation of the analysis results found in test protocols and reports (documentation)
  • Application of chemical and physical methods (e.g. titrations, weighing, particle size determinations or digestions)
  • Independent execution of metrological tasks using modern analysis equipment
  • Operation and monitoring of automated systems in the laboratory (analytical instruments)
  • Applying different methods for sampling and sample preparation
  • Working with a wide variety of materials (glass, plastic, metal) and chemicals (acids, bases, salts, solvents) in careful compliance with safety, health and environmental protection regulations

Chemical laboratory assistants have a broad-based scientific education, which enables them to work in many areas in a team- and project-related manner. Your workplace can be in production, research and development laboratories as well as in the technical center. This versatility makes them ideal for use in industrial companies in many sectors of the economy, in research centres, at universities and in the United States and at institutions for environmental protection.
The training of future chemical laboratory assistants at Albemarle is carried out in cooperation with the local company Chemetall, where all areas of analysis are covered. The very practice-oriented training is supplemented by internal handicraft lessons, in which further theoretical and practical knowledge is imparted in order to prepare the trainees optimally for the final examination part 1 and part 2.

Length of training

The training lasts 3.5 years. If you perform well at school and in the company, we promote the shortening of the training period.

Electronics Technician for Automation Technology (M/F/D)

DESCRIPTION

Nothing works in production facilities without electronic control systems. The electronics technicians for automation technology are familiar with the structure of these systems and know how they work. They assemble, program and commission them. These can be individual components as well as entire systems.

During your training, you will learn, for example:

  • Assembling, adapting and configuring automation technology systems
  • Programming automation devices
  • Commissioning or adapting/renewing control systems
  • Adjusting and testing automation technology components
  • Installing controllers and creating control programs
  • Perform fault analyses with test software and diagnostic systems
  • Comply with occupational health and safety and environmental regulations

At Albemarle, future electronics technicians for automation technology are prepared for the profession through very practice-oriented training. You will first go through an internal basic education seminar where you will be taught all the necessary basic activities. Afterwards, you will be integrated directly into the specialist workshop in order to gain an insight into the broad range of tasks of an electronics technician as quickly as possible.

In the course of the training, you will always be taught key topics in a seminar, these include:

  • Engine knowledge
  • Lighting technology
  • Pneumatics
  • Measurement and control technology
  • Programmable logic controllers (PLC)
  • Network technology
  • Occupational safety topics

In addition to the purely practical training, we also work with our trainees on topics that have led to questions in the vocational school or in everyday working life as part of a handicraft lesson.
Of course, the prospective electronics technicians are also prepared for the final examinations Part 1 and Part 2 in good time and within an appropriate framework.
