Dear neighbors,
The Innerstetal chemical site has a long tradition and is an important economic factor for the region. More than 1,200 employees work here in the local companies and numerous external company employees from the surrounding area at all times.
Albemarle is active here at the site both as a producer of chemicals and as an operator of the infrastructure. Infrastructure services include, for example, wastewater disposal, energy supply, the plant fire brigade and plant security.
Albemarle is inspected once a year by the competent monitoring authority in accordance with the applicable monitoring plan in accordance with §17 of the Hazardous Incident Ordinance. The last on-site inspection in accordance with §17 paragraph 2 of the Major Accidents Ordinance by the Braunschweig State Trade Supervisory Office took place on 03.11.2023.
Safety aspects have a high priority in our company. In this respect, we have systematically investigated possible risks and taken appropriate safety measures that prevent dangerous events on the one hand, but also mitigate their possible consequences on the other. Nevertheless, operational disruptions or transport damage that could lead to an impairment for the neighbors cannot be completely ruled out.
In the event of an emergency, the Albemarle plant fire brigade and the volunteer fire brigade of the city of Langelsheim are trained and equipped. If danger is imminent, they take the necessary measures to protect you and limit damage.
Albemarle is continuously developing its safety systems and safety organization to eliminate malfunctions and accidents at human discretion and to continuously improve the safety of the plant for employees and neighbors.
