June 11, 2024
In the framework of the 20th International Exhibition of Technologies and Innovations for the Mining and Energy Industry, Exponor 2024, Albemarle, a world leader in the transformation of essential resources into critical ingredients for mobility, energy, connectivity and health, is presenting an outstanding innovative proposal focused on sustainability and efficiency in its processes. This event, one of the most relevant worldwide in the mining sector, will take place between June 3 and 6 in the city of Antofagasta, bringing together the main players in the industry.
Albemarle's stand, located in Exterior Zone B, number 34, focuses on the "New Era of Lithium", highlighting the advances in the transition towards the direct extraction of lithium in a sustainable manner. Through educational and interactive demonstrations, Albemarle presents its innovative and committed approach to sustainability, emphasizing how to produce lithium responsibly for the world.
Among the stand's attractions is the presence of Jordi Muñoz, Latin American trial motorcycle champion, who will perform stunts on an electric motorcycle. In addition, visitors will be able to experience electric scooters, augmented reality glasses and models of the direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology, among other attractions.
Also, this year Albemarle and Chile celebrate 40 years since the first lithium production in the country, thanks to this alliance between the company and Corfo, which emerged more than four decades ago to deliver this important mineral - critical for the global energy transition - to the entire world.
Seminar: Towards a sustainable future
One of the highlights of Albemarle's participation is its participation in the seminar "Towards a sustainable future: Role and Strategies of Chile in the global Lithium market." This event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m., in the Mining Cluster Room of the fairgrounds, will address the National Lithium Strategy and its projections. In it, representatives of Albemarle and other leaders in the sector will discuss Chile's strategic role in the global lithium market, a key resource for the energy transition and electric mobility.
Female talent in action
In an effort to promote inclusion and diversity in the mining industry, Albemarle supports the Talento Mujer initiative, which for the third consecutive year and for the second time at Exponor, seeks to increase female labor participation in the sector. Organized by REDEG and the Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta (AIA), this initiative includes a series of linking and relationship management activities between key players in the mining sector.
Albemarle's agenda of activities at Exponor 2024
Albemarle has a packed agenda of activities during Exponor 2024, starting with a new edition of the radio program "El Litio es La Clave" (Lithium is the Key) that will be broadcast on Radio La Clave, Radio Madero and UCV-TV from June 3 to 6, and produced in conjunction with the mining company. This is a program that has already been carried out in previous years, but in this edition it stands out that the transmission will be made from the Kunstmann Craft Bar, in a more interactive way and with important guests from the mining world, from lithium experts to authorities.
Albemarle executives will participate in the opening ceremony of the fair on Monday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. Also, on Wednesday, June 5 at 3:00 p.m., the visit of the Technical Delegation will take place, facilitating direct meetings between technicians, operators and managers with providers of technologies and innovations.
On Thursday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m., Albemarle will receive delegations of executives at the La Negra Chemical Conversion Plant, offering a tour of the operational areas and the opportunity to identify possible solutions and business opportunities.
“We are excited to once again participate in Exponor and present our innovations in sustainable lithium extraction. This event allows us to not only showcase our technological advances, but also reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and social development. At Albemarle, we firmly believe that the transition to a cleaner and more responsible energy future is possible, and that is why we are studying advanced technologies and sustainable practices. Our presence at Exponor 2024 is an invaluable opportunity to interact with other industry leaders, share knowledge and explore new opportunities for collaboration. We are especially proud of our commitment to developing the ‘New Era of Lithium’, which not only improves the efficiency of our processes, but also moves towards more environmentally friendly operations.”
