Job Description

Role Purpose:

The Treasury department at Albemarle helps the company maximize shareholder value by delivering the appropriate finance solutions to our businesses. The Sr. Financial Risk Analyst has broad responsibility that includes providing support for FX, commodity and interest rate hedging, working capital initiatives, funding strategy, and capital market activities. The role will interact with a variety of functional areas, including Controlling, Tax, Legal, Audit, Business finance and our banking partners. The position offers significant exposure to our global business and visibility to senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day Commercial Paper activity and reporting

  • Manage FX risk for active cash flow, balance sheet, and net investment hedging programs

  • Collaborate to proactively identify new FX risks and forecast improvement opportunities

  • Prepare FX exposure spreadsheet and execute approved trades in accordance with strategy and corporate policies

  • Ensure appropriate month-end treasury activities are completed (derivative mark-to-market, CP reporting, P&L attribution etc)

  • Prepare quarterly covenant compliance and treasury inputs to SEC filings

  • Prepare and update management presentations, including monthly mgt, quarterly board of director and rating agency reports, as needed

  • Assist in optimizing existing working capital solutions and become a subject matter expert on trade finance and other liquidity solutions

  • Support capital market transactions including any debt or equity issuances

  • Ad-hoc analysis, financial modeling, and additional responsibilities as required

  • Serve as a backup to other Treasury activities, and other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or similar area of study with 2 - 4+ years of directly related experience.

  • Experience must include derivatives. 

  • CFA or MBA preferred

  • Ability to focus on essentials and prioritize appropriately.

  • Must possess a keen interest in Treasury and Financial Risk, along with solid financial accounting expertise.

  • Intermediate to advanced skill with the full suite of Microsoft Office products, including the extraction and manipulation of data from ERP system.

  • Experience in any of the following desirable: Corporate Treasury, Corporate Tax, Commercial/Investment Banking, Financial Consulting, Accounting, Strategic, Planning/Corporate Development, Business Operations financial analysis.

  • Knowledge of Kyriba, FXall, SAP, BPC preferred.
