Customer: Albemarle Helps Us Meet Sustainability Goals

Oct. 22, 2024

Albemarle doesn’t do the work of building a more resilient world alone.

As a leading provider of lithium, bromine and other essential elements, Albemarle works alongside suppliers, customers, industry peers and leading experts toward advancements in technology and sustainability.

Many of Albemarle’s customers have sustainability goals of their own, and a collaborative relationship can help move both organizations toward achieving those goals.

Kraton, a maker of specialty polymers and biobased chemicals, is one example of these beneficial relationships.

Michael Frenzl, vice president of procurement and supply chain for Kraton, says:

“Albemarle's and Kraton's business relationship has been existing for decades, including the preceding companies. … Sustainability is ingrained in Kraton's value proposition as we consistently deliver on our promise of sustainable solutions.”

Meredith Bandy, Albemarle’s vice president of sustainability and investor relations, discussed this sustainability collaboration with Frenzl in a recent video.

Both companies are signatories to the United Nations Global Compact. Sharing a commitment to those principles covering human rights, labor and environment contributes to a valuable partnership.

Additionally, Albemarle has matched our purpose, core values and approach with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

“This engagement is vital for advancing our sustainability journey, impacting not only us but also our suppliers,” Frenzl said.
