Jana Bean developed a love of math as a child, in part because her grandmother, a math teacher, made sure she practiced multiplication before playing after school. Bean studied engineering at Mississippi State University and after graduating, worked in a variety of engineering roles and locations, including Minnesota, Florida, Texas and Japan. When she and her husband moved to Magnolia to be closer to family, Bean started her first job in an industrial environment. As a project manager with a focus on infrastructure and facilities, she works on building renovations alongside contractors, construction coworkers and others.
People Overview
It’s the people. Here, they truly care about others, and people get to know one another. There are so many opportunities to get involved and do your part.
Communication is key. You need to know how to communicate with people in each discipline, and you have to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Dalton Wood grew up in Magnolia, with family members who worked at Albemarle. His family’s roots run deep in the community and the company. He graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2022 and began work as a project engineer in capital projects at the site. The role requires his technical knowledge, but also good communication skills to collaborate with all departments across the plant. Outside of work, Wood enjoys hunting, fishing and cooking, as well as relaxing at Mule Kick, a local restaurant with live music on the weekends.
Our Talent Pipeline
Our Talent Pipeline
We recognize the importance of creating and maintaining a long-term pipeline of talent. We work diligently with the area’s schools to create additional science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) educational opportunities within their primary education curriculum.
Our commitment to the shared success of the region is apparent in our investment in local K-12 schools, local community colleges and institutions of higher learning, such as Southern Arkansas University (SAU).
Albemarle employees host plant tours, conduct seminars and sponsor senior engineering projects for the university, and we recruit students and graduates for internships and post-graduation employment opportunities. Several employees serve as adjunct professors at SAU, a testament to the strong partnership between Albemarle and SAU.
