Job Description

We seek to hire an Enterprise Architect (EA) member of the Digital Strategy and IT Governance Team with the technical and leadership skills required to advance Albemarle's digital business transformation goals. The Enterprise Architect will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with in-depth knowledge of EA tools, methodologies, best practices, and industry trends and will collaborate closely with various IT teams like IT Asset Management (ITAM), Security and Compliance, Enterprise Business Systems, Collaboration, and Network & Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have broad experience with solution architecture across various platforms, including ServiceNow/Freshworks, SAP, Salesforce, Azure, Workday, AISera, Freshworks etc.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Chair Albemarle Architecture Review Board (ARB) by triaging the new technology requests along with various architecture requirements (Business, Technology, Security, etc.).
  • Liaise with IT, PMO, Engineering, and Operations for any Architecture Review Board activities across the entire lifecycle of projects.
  • Should have strong knowledge of enterprise architecture models like TOGAF, strong program management discipline, and application portfolio management products like, Planview or Service Now (APM/ITBM).
  • Work with lead architects of each IT department to ensure the application portfolio is up to date.
  • Develop and maintain as-is and to-be architecture diagrams for all major applications in the system.
  • Assists in evaluating, reporting, and monitoring (KPIs, OKRs, etc.) enterprise assets, technologies, roadmaps, standards, principles, and any other artifacts related to the discipline of Enterprise Architecture.
  • Work with the application leader, data, infrastructure, and security architects to ensure technology choices and patterns are well documented and follow enterprise guidelines.
  • Be a vital part of a working team to support the definition of an enterprise strategy, including standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Assist in strategic enterprise initiatives like Enterprise Platform strategy, Cloud migration, and API Strategy.
  • Partner with the ITAM team to participate in the entire hardware and software asset management lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting support and fix complex production incidents as needed.
  • Develop and maintain reference architecture and guide project teams on appropriate usage.
  • Lead/contribute to the evaluation/execution of ServiceNow upgrades, reviewing the impact on the application portfolio and making changes as needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership and peers, including strong writing skills to draft and publish internal technical documentation, SOPs, architectural specifications, business cases, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar. The Open Group TOGAF 9 Certification will be a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in EA Tools like BizzDesign, PlanView, or ServiceNow/Freshworks.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience on the ServiceNow or similar platform that includes: Flow Designer, Mid-servers, IT Service Management, IT Asset Management (HAM and SAM), IT Operations Management, and Application Portfolio Management (APM)
  • 2+ Years' experience working in Cloud Technologies, API Design, and Development
  • Minimum 2 years experience developing architecture standards with business enablement platforms and applications such as Azure, SAP, Salesforce, Workday
  • Knowledge of the latest IT, cloud, and security architectures is a plus
  • Excellent organization skills and an ability to develop and implement plans for major issues and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple activities effectively
  • Resourceful, take the initiative to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Works well in a team environment and is comfortable with an extremely fast pace, switching priorities, and multitasking.
