FCC pretreatment

Pretreatment of FCC feedstocks can greatly improve the performance of the FCC unit and the quality of products it produces. FCC-PT units span a wide range of processing conditions and objectives. Lower pressure units emphasize desulfurization of heavy feeds in order to reduce gasoline sulfur and SOx emissions from the FCC stack. In addition to these objectives, higher pressure units are able to substantially reduce nitrogen content and increase hydrogen content of the FCC feed as well as treat even heavier feedstocks. These objectives allow the FCC to produce more light products from heavy and hydrogen deficient feeds.
